Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory Departs for National Mime Festival in West Bengal

A four-member team of the Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, led by Dr. Y. Sadananda Singh, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and Director of the Repertory, left Imphal today to participate in the National Mime Festival being held at Asansol, West Bengal.

The troupe will perform a mime play titled “Crashed But Alive” on November 1, 2025. The play portrays a story of friendship and humanity between a villager and a half-human, half-machine survivor of a chopper crash.

The cast includes M. Inaoton Singh as the Man Machine and Th. Rishikanta Singh in supporting roles. Music is composed by Raghumani and Dr. Y. Sadananda Singh, who also directed the production. The play is produced by Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Imphal.

The participation of the team at the national festival highlights Manipur’s rich tradition of mime and performing arts on a national stage.
