Manipur Police Recover Stolen Toyota Fortuner in Inter-State Vehicle Theft Crackdown
As part of an ongoing coordinated operation with Delhi Police against an inter-state vehicle theft racket, Manipur Police have recovered a stolen Toyota Fortuner from Imphal West district. The SUV was reported stolen from Delhi, police sources said.
The recovered vehicle bears a flag post mounted on the bonnet, a feature generally associated with VIP usage. However, police have not disclosed the identity of the VIP or individual who was using the vehicle at the time of recovery.
With this recovery, the total number of stolen vehicles seized during the operation has risen to seven. Earlier, six stolen vehicles were recovered from Imphal West and Churachandpur districts through joint efforts of Manipur Police and Delhi Police.
Police officials said the operation is part of a sustained crackdown on organised inter-state vehicle theft networks, involving intelligence sharing and coordinated action across states. Investigations are continuing to trace the full network and to identify those involved, and further recoveries and arrests are expected.
Authorities reiterated that no one would be spared, irrespective of status, as the investigation progresses.
